About this map:

Created by Horace Dobbins in 1897, The Great California Cycleway was an elevated wooden bicycle path that was designed to go from the Hotel Green in Pasadena to Downtown Los Angeles. Much of the right-of-way paralleled the The Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway, and the Arroyo Seco. The path was only built as far as South Pasadena. Much of the right-of-way out of South Pasadena was later used to create the Arroyo Seco Parkway.
