At Noon on Friday, January 27, 2012, the day of International Holocaust Remembrance and the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust and its community partners will mark an area 15 sq. miles around Los Angeles with a flash mob. Participants will stand along the route outlined on the map and display a sign reminding us of the evil discrimination perpetrated at Auschwitz against Jews, homosexuals, political prisoners, Romany, Catholics and virtually any person deemed “unworthy” by the Nazis.Join us. Pick your location. Edit the map, add a Placemaker on the map where you will be standing. In the Description section, write your name & email. Then go to http://www.lamoth.org/the-museum/mapping-auschwitz-flash-event/and download your sign. By creating a direct, geographic link between LA today and the Nazi-appropriated territory of the Auschwitz complex, LAMH will ask one fundamental question: What are we going to fill our border with?
