The Indian Wars involved almost every Indian in the United States. Manifest Destiny was the white man’s belief that it was their right to own all of the land between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Because of Manifest Destiny, Indians lost all their territory and were forced to move to reservations. The Indians fought back. The Wars on the Great Plains started with the Pueblo Revolt in 1680 and ended with the Battle of Wounded Knee in 1890. Come along and visit some of the most significant battles on the Great Plains.
